How to Craft Spyglass
The Spyglass is a tool used for zooming in on distant objects and locations.
Crafting
Ingredients Needed:
- 2x Copper Ingot
- 1x Amethyst Shard
Step-by-step Instructions
- Open a Crafting Table to access the 3×3 grid.
- Arrange the materials as shown in the grid above, then place the output Spyglass into your inventory.
- That’s it! You can now use or place your new item.
Ingredient Tips
Copper Ingot: Smelt copper ore; wax copper blocks with honeycomb to prevent oxidation.
Amethyst Shard: Mined from amethyst clusters in geodes; use Silk Touch to move budding blocks (note: they don’t drop).

Fun Fact
The Spyglass was added in the 1.17 Caves & Cliffs update alongside amethyst geodes and copper, making it one of the first items to require these new materials.
