How to Craft Cartography Table
Cartography Tables are used for cloning, locking, and scaling maps, and for applying map decorations.




Crafting

Step-by-step Instructions
- Open a Crafting Table to access the 3×3 grid.
- Place ingredients exactly as shown in the grid (shape matters unless marked shapeless) then move the resulting Cartography Table to your inventory.
- Use, place, or craft further with your new item.
Ingredients Needed
- 2x Oak Planks

- 2x Paper

Ingredient Tips

Oak Planks: Crafted from any logs in a 2×2; great starter material found in all forest biomes.

Paper: Crafted from 3 sugar cane in a row; sugar cane grows on sand/grass near water.
Uses for Cartography Table
- Expanding (scaling) maps
- Cloning maps
- Locking maps to prevent further updates
- Adding map markers with banners
Fun Fact
Before the cartography table, players had to spend extra paper to resize or clone maps; this workstation dramatically reduces paper costs.
