How to Craft Brush
The brush is an archeology tool used to carefully excavate suspicious blocks to find artifacts.
Crafting
Step-by-step Instructions
- Open a Crafting Table to access the 3×3 grid.
- Place ingredients exactly as shown in the grid (shape matters unless marked shapeless) then move the resulting Brush to your inventory.
- Use, place, or craft further with your new item.
Ingredients Needed
- 1x Feather
- 1x Copper Ingot
- 1x Stick
Ingredient Tips
Feather: Drops from chickens; breed chickens with seeds for a steady supply.
Copper Ingot: Smelt copper ore; wax copper blocks with honeycomb to prevent oxidation.
Stick: Craft from two planks stacked; also drops from leaf decay.

- Brushing suspicious sand and gravel
- Finding pottery sherds and other artifacts

- Creating decorated pots
Fun Fact
The brush was added in the 1.20 'Trails & Tales' update as part of the new archeology system, allowing players to discover the history of the Minecraft world.
